|CONFERENCE 2004 SPEAKERS |
|MBC CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS |
Our goal was an educational, inspirational and motivational weekend for self, family, career and
community, hence “Multiples in Balance!”
We believe that adults often get too wrapped up in our serious jobs as parents! We forget about
our other relationships, including the one we have with ourselves. At this conference we reminded
delegates that it isn’t self-ish to put self-FIRST, in fact, it’s important that we do -- for the sake
of our marriage, our family, and our many other relationships!
We owe the success of our conference to
- A two-year planning period. Hats off to those chapters who’ve done it in one year! Pre-fundraising efforts brought in over $10,000.
- Outside help. We developed a “friends of” outreach, and we couldn’t have done it without them!
- Ontario Trillium Foundation. In collaboration with Timiskaming Child and Family Services we were able to access funds to cover costs of speakers and promotion of the conference -- $23,400.
- A strong and vibrant community. Businesses and organizations that had not previously heard about Multiple Births Canada came to the table with over $20,000 in support!
