Current Projects

Enriching school libraries
In December 2005, TMB made a $3,000 donation to area elementary school libraries. English and French schools, public and Catholic, from Temagami to Kirkland Lake received storybooks about multiples. All schools also received the Multiples in School Support Kit with useful information for educators on placement issues.

Outreach to Professionals
TMB purchased the Professional’s Support Kit to assist professionals who work with multiples and their families. Professionals can request a kit by emailing temiskaming@multiplebirthscanada.org

Outreach to New Parents
To support expecting and new parents, TMB provide these families with a Multiple Birth Support Kit for Expecting and New Parents. Membership dues for the first year will also be waived. To alert TMB of your needs email temiskaming@multiplebirthscanada.org

Membership Outreach
TMB membership includes parents of multiples, adult multiples, extended family and friends of multiples. We welcome all who share our goal.

20th Anniversary Cookbook
As part of our awareness efforts, we recently designed a cookbook with valuable information about our chapter and Multiple Births Canada.

Website
The Internet offers us new opportunities to reach families within our area. The goal of our website is to provide information about our chapter and to lead those who need answers to the proper resources. We encourage you to share this url: www.temiskamingmultiplebirths.com

National Support
Our chapter is committed to furthering the outreach work of MBC. Currently we have one member who sits on the Board of Directors. A TMB member chairs the MBC Francophone support network and the MBC Special Needs support network was co-chaired by two of our members.

National volunteers from TMB are involved behind the scenes as well. One family is involved in the French translation of MBC resources. Another member is overseeing the work of all national volunteers. Some of our members have been involved in the Making a Difference Awards (MADA) committee. We continue to have a strong presence at the MBC AGM.
